Kiss, Marry, Kill (#6): A Court of Mist and Fury

kmk

Hey there bookworms! It’s Monday! I would do a #(f)mcm but I figured I would kill two birds with one stone since my current crush will be featured today. A couple of weeks back, Sarah J. Maas’s A Court of Mist and Fury was published! I hope you read and loved it as much as I did. I know it’s not for everyone but man was that amazing. Anyway, I wanted to do two editions today, mainly because I want to overturn my choices from my A Court of Thorns and Roses KMK haha.

If you haven’t played before, check out the rules below and let me know what you pick!

Rules:

  1. I will be providing the names of 3 different male characters (since I’m female, I might be doing a female edition in the future).
  2. From those three, you are to pick one who you’d kiss, one to marry, and one to kill.
  3. Have fun!

Kiss, Marry, Kill Round 1: A Court of Thorns and Roses

  1. Tamlin
  2. Lucien
  3. Rhysand

My Choices:

Kiss:

I honestly would like to pick Rhysand for this option and another option but I can’t so I’ll say Lucien. After reading ACOMAF, I had to rethink some things. Last time, I chose to marry Lucien and well, I didn’t care for how he acted in ACOMAF. We don’t really see much of him but I saw enough to know that I wouldn’t want to marry him anymore.

Marry:

Freaking Rhysand! Death Incarnate. Night triumphant. (Actual line from SJM that I absolutely loved). He’s so indescribably amazing. Plus, if I marry him I’d live in the Night Court and I would just love that! I would also hang out with his court and they’re just a blast!

Kill:

Tamlin. This was the only option that didn’t change. His character falls flat when compared to the other High Lords haha. Then you know ACOMAF happened and I wanted him dead even more than before.

Kiss, Marry, Kill Round 2: Battle of Courts (if you’ve read ACOMAF)

  1. Lucien
  2. Cassian
  3. Azriel

My Choices:

Kiss:

Azriel! He’s so mysterious and his protectiveness over Mor and the rest of the court is so admirable. I really want to get to know more of him and his backstory.

Marry:

I feel totally basic but Cassian! I can’t get over the bad on the outside, soft and caring on the inside kind of characters. I love his backstory and I like his friendship with Feyre and his possible relationship with Nesta(?). We’ll see!

Kill:

Sorry Lucien but not sorry. You were kind of a prick and followed Tamlin blindly. I mean, I love the loyalty, but even he knew Tamlin was doing something wrong and never did anything about it. Sooo byeeee Lucien

I’m really interested to know what you guys will pick! Let me know who and why below!

Kiss, Marry, Kill: Shadowhunters Edition

kmk

Hello there fellow bookworms and shadowhunters!! It’s been such a long, long time since I’ve done a Kiss, Marry and Kill post! I wanted to do one today since the TV show Shadowhunters was recently released. It is on its third episode and so I thought it would be a great time to make my KMK on the show! If you haven’t seen the show, are you planning to? If you have, what do you think of it so far? It’s okay for me right now but the story line is keeping me interested. Anyway, if you don’t know how to play KMK, no worries, it’s easy and the rules are down below!

Rules:
  1. I will be providing the names of 3 different male characters (since I’m female, I might be doing a female edition in the future).
  2. From those three, you are to pick one who you’d kiss, one to marry, and one to kill.
  3. Have fun!
Kiss, Marry, Kill Options: Shadowhunters
  1. Jace Wayland
  2. Alec Lightwood
  3. Simon Lewis
My Choices:

Kiss

Oh yes! Alec Lightwood! He’s my low-key crush even though him and I would never happen (not because he’s a fictional character but you know …). I love his fierce loyalty and that black hair, blue eye combo — how can you not kiss him?

Marry

This one is easy! Jace Wayland! It was love at first read. Okay, maybe not first read because he was a jerk but I grew to love him. He’s got a hard exterior and he can say some really messed up things (plus being egotistic) but he’s loyal and caring and weirdly sweet despite his childhood. Oh, I can’t forget about his wit and snark! I didn’t like Jamie Campbell Bower when he portrayed Jace but I am absolutely in love with Dominic Sherwood as Jace. G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S!

Kill

Yeah, sorry Simon. You never did it for me. You had all the right qualities — great friend, nerdy and geeky and funny but I don’t know. You really annoyed me in the series and I actually like you a bit more in the TV show but I’d have to kill you.

Who would you Kiss, Marry, and Kill? Let me know below!!

Kiss, Marry, Kill (#4): Hunger Games Edition

kissmarrykill

Hi y’all! In celebration of tomorrow’s release of The Hunger Games: The Mockingjay, Part 2, I wanted to do a Hunger Games Edition of Kiss, Marry, Kill. The Hunger Games trilogy was written by Suzanne Collins in 2008.This trilogy means so much to me because it really introduced me to the world of dystopians and the young adult genre. The movies, in my opinion, are fantastic and some of the better book-to-film adaptations out there. I am so sad that this will be the last film and I’m sure that the cast goodbyes were extremely emotional — I’m extremely emotional right now thinking about the end of a franchise. So I would like to dedicate this post to the amazing cast and crew that worked on the films, especially Jennifer Lawrence who was a perfect Katniss Everdeen!

If you haven’t read the books or seen the movies, a) I suggest that you do and b) this round will probably not be as fun for you.

  3. Have fun!

Kiss, Marry, Kill Options: The Hunger Games Edition

peeta finnick gale
  1. Peeta Mellark
  2. Finnick O’Dair
  3. Gale Hawthorne

My Choices:

Kiss:

I would have to pick Peeta

Marry:

Finnick

Kill:

Gale

I’m really interested to know what you guys will pick! Let me know who and why below!

Kiss, Marry, Kill (#2.4): Sarah J. Maas Edition

kissmarrykill

Hi y’all! For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been doing Sarah J. Maas editions of KMK in anticipation of the release of Queen of Shadows. That’s just 4 days away!! Today I’m bringing you the last SJM edition for a while! Who knows, with QoS, we might meet some new characters or I might even do a villain KMK! Villain editions will be really tough haha. I hope that despite all the spoilers coming out that y’all are still super excited for its release. Continuing from last week’s KMK, I’ll be mixing up the choices between her two series: Throne of Glass and A Court of Thorns and Roses! Enjoy!

Rules:

  1. I will be providing the names of 3 different male characters (since I’m female, I might be doing a female edition in the future).
  2. From those three, you are to pick one who you’d kiss, one to marry, and one to kill.
  3. Have fun!

Kiss, Marry, Kill Options: Throne of  Thorns and Roses? A Court of Glass? Part 2

  1. Dorian Havilliard
  2. Sam Cortland
  3. Lucien

My Choices:

Kiss:

If Dorian wasn’t in this round, you better believe I’d be marrying him but alas, a kiss shall do. I would do anything to raise Sam Cortland from the dead. *sobs* He’s so precious. He didn’t deserve what happened to him. He deserved happiness and everything that’s good in life. He’s the only one, other than Dorian, that I really wanted to be with Celaena! I’ll never be over his death!

Marry:

This doesn’t come off as a surprise but I’ll be marrying my dear Dorian Havilliard! I won’t let the Dorian haters get to me. I know you’re out there but I’m standing by my babe. I’m serious. The tags on my ToG books with my favorite Dorian scenes are tagged babe. Because He. Is. Bae. Please pray for his sanity lol — actually that’s not even a little funny.

Kill:

It was an extremely hard decision because I absolutely love Lucien! It pains me to have to kill him and ugh after everything he went through with his father and his brothers! I’m so sorry Lucien! I love you but I haven’t spent as much time with you as the others! *yells* Please someone save him and pick him for something else in KMK!

I’m really interested to know what you guys will pick! Let me know who and why below!

Kiss, Marry, Kill (#2.3): Sarah J. Maas Edition

kissmarrykill

Hello there! In the midst of all the blog changes, I’m here to bring you another round of Kiss, Marry, & Kill. For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been doing Sarah J. Maas editions of KMK in anticipation of the release of Queen of Shadows. I hope that despite all the spoilers coming out that y’all are still super excited for its release. I’ve seen a lot of the spoilers and they’ve made me even more excited to get to the book! Anyway, to spice things up in KMK this week, I’ll be mixing up the choices between her two series: Throne of Glass and A Court of Thorns and Roses! This week will be a Fae showdown — hint, hint 😉

Rules:

  1. Tamlin
  2. Rhysand
  3. Rowan Whitethorn

My Choices:

Kiss:

Oh. My. Gosh. What did I get us into? This is so hard! Ugh! I don’t know. Can I kiss all of them first? I love them all equally! Okay, okay. Don’t quote me on this because I’m still pretty undecided but I’ll choose Tamlin this time on the condition that he takes me to the starlight pool for the kiss.

Marry:

This one was a bit easier because I think there’s only one person on here that really matches my personality and that would be Rhysand. He’s mysterious, dark, witty, and sarcastic. I know weird mix for my personality but we’d balance each other out so well haha. Good marriage!

Kill:

So this one’s the real problem and unfortunately that leaves me to kill off Rowan. *cries in guilt and shame* But he’s a tough guy and he’s survived worse than anything I’d be able to do to him haha. He’s really amazing but I don’t think we’d mesh very well if we married.

I’m really interested to know what you guys will pick! Let me know who and why below!

Kiss, Marry, Kill (#2.2): Sarah J. Maas Edition

kissmarrykill

Hello everyone! Sarah J. Maas edition of KMK continues!! There’s been some crazy things happening with the fandom that I wanted to address. There was a very spoiler-filled review of Queen of Shadows put up (and then taken down) and it apparently caused World War III. I can’t believe someone up put spoilers of a book before the book was even published. I also can’t believe that fans of the series are contemplating boycotting the books because they didn’t like what they read in the review. Sarah J. Maas is getting a lot of backlash from it and it’s totally unfair to her. We can’t fully comprehend what happened in QoS of what SJM has planned for the last book. I saw the spoilers and I’m not mad because I willingly wanted to read spoilers. If I didn’t, then I just wouldn’t have opened the dang thing. Honestly I don’t agree with the review but I don’t (a) have the full picture, (b) it’s one review, (c) they could be lying, (d) they have different opinions about the characters than me, and (e) SJM has shown nothing but great writing and I’m not giving up on that. So please, don’t boycott the books and don’t spoil anyone!

Anyway, off the serious topic and into a more lighthearted topic!

Rules:
  1. I will be providing the names of 3 different male characters (since I’m female, I might be doing a female edition in the future).
  2. From those three, you are to pick one who you’d kiss, one to marry, and one to kill.
  3. Have fun!

Kiss, Marry, Kill Options: A Court of Thorns and Roses

  1. Tamlin
  2. Rhysand
  3. Lucien

My Choices:

Kiss:

Imagine how amazing kissing Rhysand would be. I bet you he’s an amazing kisser. Yes. Yes. Yes. He’s so dark, sexy, mysterious. I mean, he’s described as the most gorgeous man who Feyre had ever seen and this was after meeting Tamlin, so I can’t even imagine! I think I’d faint if Rhysand kissed me.

Marry:

I’m gonna surprise some of you here but … I’m going to pick Lucien. I really thought about this and he’s more of my speed. Rhysand is too out there for me and Tamlin is, not rigid but rigid (horrible explanation, really). I love how lighthearted and down to earth Lucien is despite what he’s gone through. I love his wit and jokes. I love his loyalty and his spirit. I could be happily married to him forever.

Kill:

*sobs* I’m so sorry Tamlin! I do love you and ugh this was a tough decision! He’s such an awesome character and so strong and caring. It’s even better when he lets his hair loose and you get to see who he really is. I wouldn’t be able to kill you anyway, you’re too powerful and smart :p

Which High Fae would you pick ladies and why? Let me know below! Wait until next week, we’ll be mixing up the two series 😉

Kiss, Marry, Kill (#2.1): Sarah J. Maas Edition

kissmarrykill

HI Y’ALL! I’m here to bring you another round of Kiss, Marry, & Kill (KMK). Last week was the Prince edition and this week is Sarah J. Maas! Calling all SJM fans of Throne of Glass and A Court of Thorns and Roses! Queen of Shadows will be released in a little over 3 weeks (24 days) — I am so excited about it! In celebration, I will be posting SJM Editions of KMK!

Rules:
  1. I will be providing the names of 3 different male characters (since I’m female, I might be doing a female edition in the future).
  2. From those three, you are to pick one who you’d kiss, one to marry, and one to kill.
  3. Have fun!

Kiss, Marry, Kill Options: Throne of Glass

  1. Dorian Havilliard
  2. Chaol Westfall
  3. Rowan Whitethorn

My Choices:

Kiss:

My kisses shall go to — drumroll please — Rowan! I love you but not that way. You’re kickbutt, loyal, and you don’t take crap from anyone. You don’t baby Celaena and I like that. You don’t treat her differently because she’s a girl or whatever. Oh, you’re also pretty sexy but again, I don’t love you that way. We wouldn’t work out but we’d be awesome friends!

Marry:

Dorian freaking Havilliard. I have this thing for princes … I LOVE them and Dorian’s my baby. He’s my #2 in my Top Ten list of Fictional Characters that I’d Date. It’s mostly because he’s a bookworm but also because he’s a sweetheart. He’s funny, caring, loyal, can wield a sword but prefers to read. He would be an amazing husband. <3<3 Plus, that black-hair-blue-eye combo is on point!

Kill:

For those of you who know me, you already know that Chaol would be killed off. If I was SJM — and you’re probably glad that I’m not — I would’ve killed off Chaol a long, long time ago. I cannot stand that guy. My dislike for him knows no bounds. Sorry guys haha.

I’m really interested to know what you guys will pick! Let me know who and why below! (Don’t worry, Sam Cortland will make an appearance soon *cries*).

Kiss, Marry, Kill (#1): Prince Edition

kissmarrykill

Helloooo bookworms! Happy Monday! I am so excited because I am starting a new meme here on Love thy Shelf! It’s called Kiss, Marry, Kill (not an original meme). I introduced it a couple of weeks back and I’m sure that you’ve played some sort of edition of this game. If you haven’t heard of this game, or if you haven’t played, here’s a little summary of the concept:

  1. I will be providing the names of 3 different male characters (since I’m female, I might be doing a female edition in the future).
  2. From those three, you are to pick one who you’d kiss, one to marry, and one to kill.
  3. Have fun!

In my blog though, I’ll be doing editions. For example, this week is Prince Edition. I’ve already made up a list and have done editions like: Shadowhunter, Werewolves, Herondale, Revolutionists, Gods, Lightwoods, and you catch my drift. I might even do a villain edition *evil laughter*. Anyway, let’s get to this week’s choices!

Kiss, Marry, Kill Options:

  1. Prince Nikolai Lantsov from The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo
  2. Prince Dorian Havilliard from Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
  3. Prince Kaito or Kai from The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer

My Choices:

First I’d like to say how stupid I am for putting these three together because I love each one of them so much! Yeah, this is pretty bad. Let’s get on with it

Kiss:

Prince Kai — sorry Cinder, he’s mine! Just kidding, you guys are my OTP. But let me have him for a kiss. He’s such a great character, so sweet, caring, thoughtful, and Asian — I can probably add great kiss on there, too!

Marry:

Prince Dorian, he’s my #1 prince so it’s obvious that I’d marry him! I love his storyline in the Throne of Glass series. I think his character development is so fantastic. He went from being that arrogant crown prince into this respectable future king of Adarlan. Plus, he’s a bookworm! I mean it’s meant to be.

Kill:

Okay, okay. This was a tough set but hear me out. If I attempt to kill Nik, he’ll just get out of it. It won’t happen. He’s too smart, sneaky, and his strategies are on point. His death is … improbable 😉

What would you pick and why? Let me know below!

xoxo
