Synopsis: Experience the epic love story of OBSIDIAN as told by its hero, Daemon Black…

I knew the moment Katy Swartz moved in next door, there was going to be trouble. Lots of it.

And trouble’s the last thing I need, since I’m not exactly from around here. My people arrived on Earth from Lux, a planet thirteen billion light years away. Plus, if there’s one thing I know, it’s that humans can’t be trusted. We scare them. We can do things they only dream about, and honestly, we make them look weak as hell. ‘Cuz they are.

But Kat is getting to me in ways no one else has, and I can’t stop myself from wanting her—or wanting to use my powers to protect her. She makes me weak, and I’m the strongest of our kind, tasked with protecting us all. So this one simple girl…she can mean the end for us. Because the Luxen have an even bigger enemy—the Arum, and I need to stay on my game.

Falling for Katy—a human—won’t just place her in danger. It could get us all killed, and that’s one thing I’ll never let happen…

gifI have been waiting for this book when I first read the series about a year ago. The book wasn’t even in existence but I wanted it. I wanted everything Daemon Black and you don’t understand how excited I was when JLA came out with Oblivion. I read the new compiled Lux books that had extra scenes written in Daemon’s point of view and they were never enough. I loved them and I clung to them like they were life but it was never enough to satisfy my need for Daemon. Origin and Opposition had some scenes written in his POV and all that did was wet my appetite for more Daemon scenes! Finally here we are. This book is too precious for words. Not only is Daemon smart, sexy, and protective, he’s freaking hilarious! This book had me laughing so so much. I absolutely love his point of view.

I liked reading new scenes that we had no idea happened while reading Obsidian. I think that it aligned very well with Obsidian and had some quotes that weren’t in this book but it really wasn’t that big a deal. I can’t believe that this book has been out since December and I just read it now! I missed this world so much, it makes me want to read the series all over again. I liked reading in Daemon’s POV because it explains so much of his behavior in the first book. A lot of people don’t like him because of his treatment of Kat and honestly, if you read Oblivion it will probably change your mind. I love that he had such a hard time being a total douchebag to Kat. I like seeing his softer side. The chances of it happening is slim to none but I really hope that she releases more books in his POV. This was so great!!
