Waiting on Wednesday (1)

Hello Bookworms! For Wednesdays, Love thy Shelf will be joining the Waiting on Wednesday meme hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spine and alternating with the Top 5 Wednesdays hosted by Lainey @ Ginger Reads Lainey on YouTube! This Wednesday, I’ll be starting with W.o.W! It’s a meme that pretty much spotlights upcoming book releases that I’m eagerly anticipating!

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

six of crows

Hardcover, 480 pages
Expected publication: September 29th 2015 by Henry Holt and Company

Blurb provided by Goodreads:

Ketterdam: a bustling hub of international trade where anything can be had for the right price—and no one knows that better than criminal prodigy Kaz Brekker. Kaz is offered a chance at a deadly heist that could make him rich beyond his wildest dreams. But he can’t pull it off alone…

A convict with a thirst for revenge.

A sharpshooter who can’t walk away from a wager.

A runaway with a privileged past.

A spy known as the Wraith.

A Heartrender using her magic to survive the slums.

A thief with a gift for unlikely escapes.

Six dangerous outcasts. One impossible heist. Kaz’s crew is the only thing that might stand between the world and destruction—if they don’t kill each other first.

Why the Anticipation?

I read Leigh Bardugo’s Grisha Trilogy (Shadow and Bone, Siege and Storm, and Ruin and Rising) and I really fell in love with the world. Even though the third book didn’t meet my expectations, I’m really exited to read more from the world of Grisha. It reminded me a lot of Harry Potter because of the magic and the different kinds of Grishas that they have. The trilogy was a lot of fun to read and I enjoyed Bardugo’s writing style. I also am in love with Nikolai Lantsov! It would be really cool if the only characters in the trilogy pop up in these coming books!

What releases are you anticipating? Are you excited for Six of Crows?

    • Oh! Raven King! I haven’t read The Raven Cycle yet, but I know how much everyone is anticipating the release of Raven King haha

Yeah, it’s the last book of the series so I’m guessing everyone is as giddy about it as I am, lol. You have to try reading it 🙂 I’m also waiting for the Rose Society by Marie Lu. It’s such a good year for YA, a lot of good books came out and coming soon.
