I spent a good 3 days reorganizing my shelves. I’ve had a couple of book hauls since I last fixed it up so I had books everywhere. It was one hot mess. After getting things organized, I found out that I didn’t have shelf space so I had to go to Ikea and buy a bookshelf! Anyone else have fun building their own furniture? I sure did, ha! *no sarcasm there* So for this week’s Shelfie, I am posting my updated shelves!
These are my main ones! They make one corner of my room — that’s Jake Abel behind there and Max Irons (can’t really see him haha). These two shelves are the bulk of my science fiction/fantasy books! The shelves on the right (3rd picture) are my more favorite books — including a few contemporaries. The last two pictures are a closer picture of the shelves.
These next ones hold more of my YA contemporary, adult contemporary, fiction, poetry, historical fiction, plays, and some classics. The first two are the same shelf but the second picture is with the door opened. I painted the front of the door with black chalkboard paint and I write my lists of books to buy and TBRs. I thought it was a cool idea — maybe just me haha.
My last “shelf” isn’t an actual shelf. Since I can’t fit another bookshelf in my room, I use the headboard of my bed to place some of my books. I’ve posted a picture of this shelf before but it looked different from this. (Yay for Super Mario Bros.) On top, I have my floating shelves. With the exception of 4 books, these are more science fiction and fantasy books that I have — surprise, surprise!
I’ve had my shelves up before and people always want to zoom in to see book titles and sometimes the lightning doesn’t help. Sometimes my hand shakes when I take the picture and it’s too blurry to read. Anyway, I made it easier … here you can see the spreadsheet that I made of my Book Inventory. It’s the mini version of my inventory, actually. My real one also tracks which books I’ve read, which books are checked out to my friends, and the total cost of my books ($5, 409.09 — imagine how much it costs with tax!) The books are listed by the author’s last name.
I hope that you enjoyed this week’s shelfie and if you’ve posted pictures of your shelves on your blog, I’d love to see them! Did you see any of your favorite books in my shelves or must read books? Let me know! Have an amazing week!
